Use of 20-Micron Calcite Powder (Oman) in Paints
Calcite powder (20 micron) imported from Oman, though slightly lower in whiteness compared to Vietnamese grades, offers excellent performance as a filler in various paint formulations.
Recommended Applications:
Colour-based primers – Ideal for grey, red oxide, and tinted primers where base whiteness is not critical.
Coloured emulsions – Works well in medium and dark shades where pigments dominate the final colour.
White-based products – Can still be used in white primers or emulsions by adding extra titanium dioxide (TiO₂) to achieve the desired brightness.
Advantages:
Cost-effective replacement for high-whiteness calcite in non-bright shades.
Maintains good opacity, film strength, and workability in primers and emulsions.
Suitable for both water-based and solvent-based systems.
Note: For premium white or pastel shades, adjust the formulation by increasing TiO₂ content to match required whiteness.
